Problem:
College officials for a first year study abroad
program observed uneven bonding experiences amongst
the cohort participants across the various locales,
inadvertently required excessive, duplicate reporting
of students, and saw little to no interaction and
peer learning across program participant's
experiences. They sought communication tools that
could help address these issues.

Solution:
GreenFerret delivered
a "write once" strategy that appealed to students
within a "deliver broadly" solution that enabled
parents, school officials, and other students to
all learn about an individual's experience.
GreenFerret used WordPress as the foundation
technology, then customized it to fit the needs of
the program. WordPress, an open source blogging
software application, provides a free usage license
and permission for customizations. Part of the
customization included displaying a quickly
identifiable flag logo on summary listing pages
based on a locale value added to the user profile.
